Extracurricular Activities

ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

Across the school each term we operate an Enrichment program, which allows teachers and students with special interests and talents to come together in small groups, share ideas and work on special projects. Enrichment classes are widely varied, including professional Chess coaching and other activities across the curriculum. Recent Enrichment programs have included philosophy, leadership, painting, maths problem solving, writing, computer animation, digital photography and basketball.

EXCURSIONS

Usually one or two major excursions per year and one minor excursion or visiting speaker is planned for each term. All excursions require a permission note. Please attend to these promptly and return with your child.

CAMPS

Current programs are as follows:

Year 5/6 Term 4, 2 nights - Sovereign Hill/Wilson's Promontory

Year 3/4 Term 2, 2 nights - Phillip Island/Neerim South

Year 2 Term 4, 1 night sleepover - School Hall

SWIMMING PROGRAM

All children of the school are involved in an intensive swimming program each year. The classes are held in an indoor heated pool. For 2009, classes will be held as follows:

Prep, Year 1 & 2 Term 4

Year 3 & 4 Term 1

Year 5 & 6 Term 2

Advance notice is given and parents are very welcome to come and watch the lessons.
