School Philosophy
At Balwyn Primary School we strive to create a curriculum that is challenging, innovative and relevant.
We are strongly committed to providing for the individual abilities and needs of our students. This has been achieved through the adoption and implementation of a developmental learning philosophy and multi-age class structure, which is child centred and acknowledges that children learn at different rates and have different "starting points". Our teaching practices are flexible and respond to children's preferred learning styles and the curriculum is differentiated.
We encourage all students to assume responsibility for their own learning in order to become independent learners throughout their lives.
At Balwyn Primary School all children are valued and differences are accepted and celebrated within a supportive school environment. Children develop positive attitudes to learning and acquire skills that equip them for future learning.
